History of Thrill the World:
- 2007 - two new world records for "Largest Simultaneous Trhiller Dance" were set when 1,722 people in 52 cities on five continents danced Thriller at exactly the same time. These records were set with the World Records Academy and the Record Holders Republic. Thrill Mill Creek added 28 zombies to this total.
- 2008 - Thrill the World 2008 blew those numbers away, with a total of 4,179 people from 10 nations around the world dancing at precisely the same time.
- 2009 - Approximately 23,000 people in 32 countries!
- 2010 - Approximately 13,042 total zombies at 221 different events.
Planning has begun for Applause Studio's fifth year of participation in
the Thrill
the World event. Come be a part of this legacy and join us and thousands of other dancers around
the world as we all do the Thriller dance at the same time!
In addition, we are inviting Thrill Mill Creek participants and spectators to join us in raising money for Jackson High School student Kayla Healy, who has been living with Cystic Fibrosis and is in need of a double lung transplant to save her life.
Participants in Thrill Mill Creek must be at least 10 years old (younger experienced dancers allowed only with special permission), and must attend at least two learning sessions. (If you participated with us last year, you only need to attend one learning session.) Participants under the age of 18 must have parent's permission and a signed underage waiver. (We will have the form available for download soon.) There is a $10 registration fee for participants, and learning sessions will cost $5 per person, per session. Learning sessions will be held at Applause Studio in Mill Creek, on the following dates and times:
On Saturday, October 29, you will need to arrive at The Forum in Mill Creek at 5:30 pm for check-in and a final rehearsal. The official event starts at exactly 7:00 pm.
