Press Release - October 25, 2009

Thrill Mill Creek 2009

Saturday, October 24, 2009, 5:30 pm, at The Forum
15111 Main Street - Creek Side Village - Mill Creek, WA

Thanks to everyone who participated in yesterday's Thrill Mill Creek event.  We had a great time!  According to the official press release, our 39 zombies were part of approximately 23,000 people in 32 countries around the world - far and away exceeding the world record we helped set last year.  Best of all, over $85,000 was raised in the process for a variety of charities!  We'll be doing it again in 2010, so stay tuned!

You'll find our YouTube videos linked below. To see some excellent still shots of the event, please visit the Applause Studio Facebook Fan Page.

Thrill Mill Creek was part of  Thrill The World 2009 - which continues to set records for the Largest Thriller Dance!  Here's how things have gone:

  • 2007 - two new world records for "Largest Simultaneous Trhiller Dance" were set when 1,722 people in 52 cities on five continents danced Thriller at exactly the same time. These records were set with the World Records Academy and the Record Holders Republic. Thrill Mill Creek added 28 zombies to this total.
  • 2008 - Thrill the World 2008 blew those numbers away, with a total of 4,179 people from 10 nations around the world dancing at precisely the same time.
  • 2009 - Approximately 23,000 people in 32 countries!
  • 2010 - ???? Will you be here to help us? Check back next fall and be a part of the next record-breaking effort!

Rehearsals will start in September, and will be held on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.  Participation is open to anyone ten years of age and older.  (Under 18 requires parent permission and a
signed underage waiver.)
You can get started learning the dance HERE.

Please check back often, we'll post new rehearsal schedules as changes are made.  For even more information, contact our local sponsor,  Applause Studio, or email us at ttw09thrillmillcreek@gmail.com.
